I have been an artist ever since I can remember. Doodling on homework, drawing and creating as young as six. After graduating with honors as an illustrator from Ringling College of Art & Design in 1983, I grew an international advertising agency which was a very fast- paced and stressful 21 years. I’ve painted portraits and accept commissions since. What I really enjoy is the design, color and emotion of the beautiful environment. So recently I’ve done mostly landscapes and am playing with fused glass on the side to see where that will take me.
Mary Verrandeaux was raised on a farm in upstate New York showing hunters and jumpers until moving to Florida in 1979. Not quite fitting in, Mary dropped out of high school in the middle of her junior year, took the GED and went to Ringling. After graduating, Mary ran her own advertising agency growing it to 13 employees and international clients. Also during that time, she was an elite cyclist, riding for the US National Team, 3X Olympic Qualifier, 9X Florida State Road Champion, racing the Women’s Tour de France in 1985 and becoming a National Road Champion as well as 8X podiums at the US Nationals. After racing and running the ad agency, Mary painted portraits and commissions and still accepts commissions for portraits and landscapes. She’s illustrated several books and is ready to fully focus on enjoying growing as an artist.
