My artistic journey began 35 years ago, when I began woodturning as a hobby. Inspired by the beauty of the woods in Wisconsin where I lived, I enjoyed sourcing exotic hardwoods and experimenting with various grains, textures, and finishes. Through the years, I traveled to art shows from Michigan to Miami featuring pieces such as vases, bowls, and sculptured wall pieces. Additionally, I was commissioned to create and build custom furniture and intricate staircases.
In more recent years, during my time in South Carolina, I have begun a new journey working with fused glass. It has been fascinating and fulfilling to work with a completely new medium while utilizing an endless color palette. I have enjoyed the challenges of creating light and movement, while also exploring complex patterns. My pieces have been described as “elegant, earthy, organic.”
