Upstate artist Addam Duncan says an exhibition of his oil paintings, “KNWN CHNNLS,” July 5 through 30 in Gallery III at the Artists Collective | Spartanburg represents changes in mid-life for him and he wants viewers to come away feeling “love.”
“The message is that love is the only thing left,” says Duncan, who describes the works as “abstractions focusing on expression versus linear form. Through them, I’m stepping away from realism and exploring the possibilities with paint.”
The exhibition of 21 works “has been a turning point, and it’s the best one yet,” he adds. All works will be offered for sale with prices ranging from $100 to $1,200.
Duncan, a native of Spartanburg and a self-taught artist working in paints, printmaking and synthesis, will give an artist’s talk on July 21 in conjunction with a reception for ArtWalk Spartanburg.
