There is so much beauty in nature, and I want to bring those colors to the canvas. An amaryllis blooming in a messy room reminds me of the miracle as well as the beauty of nature, and that brings me peace. I paint with oils which is a lengthy process. Oils allow me to explore the colors and textures that I see and to express it with intensity and vividness onto canvas. I am inspired by the works of realistic painters and often paint from photos that I have taken.
Bio
Becky Dodrill began drawing as a child and has been exploring oil painting for the past 30 years. Specializing in nature, realism and portraits, she loves to travel and has taken advantage of several educational opportunities to develop her process, including being accepted in a recent Pickens County Juried Art Show. Becky recently moved from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the warmer SC upstate where she lives with her loving spouse of 35 years and her dog. She is also the proud mother of two children and a grandchild.
