For me, creating a painting is pure joy! Whether I’m moving fluid acrylics across a canvas or carefully layering oil paints, I find endless inspiration in the movement and energy of nature. I work in a variety of styles—from abstract fluid art to expressive landscapes and, more recently, portraiture. Each piece is a chance to explore color, form, and emotion in a new way. No matter the subject or medium, my goal is to evoke a sense of calm and invite viewers to connect with the natural rhythm and beauty that
surrounds us.
Bio
Diane is an artist born in New Jersey and has lived in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, for over 40 years. Her passion for creating art was sparked at an early age by her father’s talents in fabric design, painting, and photography. Although primarily self-taught, Diane has taken art lessons throughout her journey, continually learning and growing as an artist. Fluid art has been a long-standing passion—she is captivated by the interaction of the colors with fluid acrylics. Inspired by the rhythms of nature and the
elegance of flowers, her work merges abstract expression with organic forms.
Diane delights in the creative process, drawing energy from color, movement, and the ever-shifting patterns of the world around her. In recent years, she has begun pairing her paintings with poetry, sometimes writing her own verses, and has collaborated with her mother, a gifted writer. This poetic dimension adds an emotional and narrative layer to her visual work, offering viewers a deeper, more personal connection to each piece.
One especially meaningful moment came in 2025, when a painting paired with a poem written by her mother was featured in an exhibit and sold—an experience that affirmed the power of blending visual art with the written word.
