Workshop: Colorization of Copper Earrings With Gems

Colorization of Copper July 12, 2025
$65.00

Discover the alchemy of metal transformation in our Colorization of Copper – Earrings With Gems workshop, led by longtime ACS instructor and member Rosemary McLeod.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the captivating art of copper colorization using Liver of Sulfur (LOS)—a traditional method for creating rich patinas. You’ll learn how to alter the surface of copper, remove tarnish, then polish and seal it with wax for a lasting finish. The process is both scientific and artistic, making it an ideal class for creatives who love both chemistry and craft.

But the magic doesn’t stop there. Students will also gain essential jewelry-making skills, including:

  • Punching holes in copper components
  • Attaching head pins and gemstones to create dazzling accents
  • Finishing your earrings with ear wires for a fully wearable piece

Whether you’re new to jewelry making or looking to deepen your metalworking skills, this workshop is designed to spark inspiration and leave you with a one-of-a-kind creation.
